A mobile device with internal barometric sensor can work as an altimeter, applying the method used in aviation instruments. This app computes altitude from the entered base pressure and the sensor data, showing the result on a digital or three-pointer dial indicator. Automatic adjustment uses altimeter settings in weather observation data downloaded from NOAA site.
